Agriculture and Business Tour – July 2017

Vered Hasharon arranged an Agricultural Business Opportunities tour combined with a Holy Land pilgrimage in July 2017 for a group from Kenya. The 39 participants arrived at Ben Gurion airport where they were met and assisted by a representative of Vered Hasharon Travel and Tours before being transferred to their hotel in Ashdod for dinner and overnight.

The first stage of the tour was a meeting with a consulting company specializing in the planning, development, and implementation of Water & Agricultural projects where they learnt about Agricultural Water Supply, Water efficiency and Water Management Solutions. After their informative meeting the group travelled to the Dead Sea (the lowest point on earth) where they spent a leisurely afternoon relaxing and enjoying the amazing experience of floating on the extremely salty water. The next day after breakfast they were driven to Ramat Negev R. & D. Centre to learn about agriculture in arid conditions and irrigating with brackish water. After which they drove to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

A full day was spent touring in Jerusalem, beginning at the Mount of Olives where they viewed the panorama of the city. This was followed by a visit to the Garden of Gethsemane to see the Rock of Agony, where Jesus prayed before the Roman soldiers came for Him. Next they entered the Old city and walked through the colorful bazars. They also walked the route of the Via Dolorosa and visited the Jewish Quarter to see the remains of the holy temple and the Wailing (Western) Wall.

The group travelled to the Sea of Galilee to visit the Holy sites around the lake including the Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum & Tabgha, enjoy a relaxing Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and a quick visit to Cana before returning to Nazareth to tour the Church of Annunciation.

After spending a few days of sightseeing in the northern region of Israel, the group visited some farms in the area to learn about the Fish growing Industry, crop growing, Dairy farming and a visit to Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu for a “Bio-Tour” to learn about Organic Methods for Pest control and pollination.

In Tel Aviv the group met with a leading company in the field of Hydroponic and Aquaponics Agriculture. The systems that this company offers has many benefits for developing countries. The tour ended with some free time to explore Tel Aviv before departing on their return flight, taking home with them some wonderful memories of the Holy Land and an abundance of knowledge to implement in their various business fields.
